Granite Greatness

Welcome to the inaugural posting of “Granite Greatness” a monthly feature that shines the spotlight on all of the cool happenings in the state of New Hampshire.

We thought it was only appropriate to christen this feature by harkening back to the words of a great New Hampshire citizen who left us way too soon. Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion founder, the late Bob Harding, was quite fond of the enduring expression “Rock on!” To Bob, “Rock On!” wasn’t just a saying, it was a way of life as each year, he strived to bring the finest rock, country, blues and classical music to his classic amphitheater in Gilford, New Hampshire.

In his memory, the good folks at Meadowbrook have created the First Annual Rock On! Fest that this year will feature Korn, Burn Halo and up to 30 other acts on two different stages beginning at 1 p.m. and carrying on into the evening hours.

Korn's cathartic alternative metal sound positioned the group among the most popular and provocative to emerge during the post-grunge era. With hits ranging from “Freak On a Leash,” “Chutes & Ladders” and “Thoughless” to “Blind” and “Got the Life,” this Bakersfield, CA-based band has been keeping mosh pits hopping since 1994.

For those interested in “rocking on,” tickets for the festival are priced at $25.50-$39.50 and can be purchased by visiting http://www.meadowbrook.net/. Rock On Bob!!!!!
